I am talking about email, file system and management, electronic calendars, etc.</div> <div><br/></div> <div>Mostly it’s monetization, ecosystems and walled gardens. Email used to be independently distributed among a million Apache servers. Now it’s centralized among a few. So is search. So are even calendars and notes. </div> <div><br/></div> <div>Monetizing is only possible if people are made to believe that the centralized good looking tools increase their productivity, yet that is a lie and a lie dearly paid for by yearly subscription of SAS agreements.
