    <content type="html">&lt;div&gt;There has been no significant improvement in productivity when all is summed up in most commonly used IT tools in the last 25 years. I am talking about email, file system and management, electronic calendars, etc.&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;Mostly it’s monetization, ecosystems and walled gardens. Email used to be independently distributed among a million Apache servers. Now it’s centralized among a few. So is search. So are even calendars and notes. &lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;Monetizing is only possible if people are made to believe that the centralized good looking tools increase their productivity, yet that is a lie and a lie dearly paid for by yearly subscription of SAS agreements. No wonder it worked when so much money was involved.&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;People like change, need change and if packaged properly will pay for change any day foe the sake of it alone. &lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
